Pembroke resident wanted on robbery charges

Subject arrested, released at bail hearing

RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating after a customer was robbed of their prescription at a Pembroke Street East pharmacy in Pembroke on November 22.

As a result of this investigation an arrest warrant was issued for 34 year old Joel David Visutskie of Pembroke. On the morning of December 16, the wanted person was arrested by officers after short foot chase in the 200 block of Nelson Street in the City of Pembroke. The accused faces the following Criminal Code charges:

  • Robbery with theft
  • Disguise with intent
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was held for a bail hearing on December 16 and subsequently released with a scheduled January 7, 2020 court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Pembroke.
