RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — The Petawawa Rotary Club recently donated $3,000 to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s $2.5 million Cutting Edge Campaign – bringing the total raised thus far to over $1.86 million.

“Much of our funding for local projects comes from our participation as charity partners with Delta Charity Bingo Centre in Pembroke,” said Al Freethy, Petawawa Rotary Club President. “As Rotarians, we believe we have a shared responsibility to take action on the most persistent challenges affecting our communities,” continued Mr. Freethy, “and reinvesting in our local hospital will make a great impact for our families, friends and neighbours across the county.”

To date, the Petawawa Rotary Club has invested over $138,000 towards advancements at the Pembroke Regional Hospital – from helping to fund a CT scanner, to contributing to the Hospital expansion, and bringing dialysis treatment to the Region. This latest gift to the Cutting Edge Campaign will help fund the reconstruction of the in-patient surgical floor and support the regional Orthopaedic Program.

“The continued support from the Petawawa Rotary Club over the years has been incredible, helping to transform our hospital into a centre of health care excellence,” said Sarah Neadow, Manager of Advancement at PRHF. “The inpatient surgical floor is the only clinical area of our hospital that has not yet been upgraded, so we really hope that the community will support the campaign, not just for our hospital, but for everyone right here at home.”

Donations towards the Cutting Edge Campaign are welcome at any time and can be made by contacting the Foundation Office at 613-732-2811 ext. 7408 or at www.prhfoundation.com
