Police respond to attempted abduction call

RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — On May 21 at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers with the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an attempted abduction call on Edward Street in the Town of Arnprior. 

The investigation determined that no person was abducted and no injuries were sustained in this incident. The Renfrew County Crime Unit assisted with the investigation. 

As a result of the investigation, Micheal Hawley, 61 years old of Arnprior, has been charged with Criminal harassment threatening conduct. The accused was release on an undertaking to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on July 22.
