Six charged after illegal drugs seized in Renfrew

RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — A large quantity of illegal drugs was seized in Renfrew. Six people were arrested without incident at the location.

On May 27, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by an OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a hotel room on Gibbons Road.

Police seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine as well as Canadian currency, cell phones and other items associated with drug trafficking.

Sean Mackechnie, 38 years old of Renfrew, has been charged with two counts of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The following individuals have all been charged with two counts each of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking:

Sherra Lynn White, 44 years old of Stirling-Rawdon Township; Cary Allen Mackie, 49 years old of Augusta Township; Kassandra Brisson,30 years old of Renfrew; Hayley MacNeil-Macrimmon, 23 years old of Admaston-Bromley Township; and Tyler Mills, 24 years old of Arnprior.

All of the accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on August 19.
