I am seeking to represent Whitewater Region at the county level primarily to ensure the needs and concerns of Whitewater are clearly presented to Renfrew County for proper consideration of the financial well-being of our region. I believe that what is good for Whitewater is ultimately good for Renfrew County as well. I will strive to achieve a productive new business-oriented approach to the challenges we face in the coming months, years. With a strong like-minded Whitewater council I feel we can better serve our ratepayers and affect real productive change which reflects our uniqueness and promotes common sense that benefits both Whitewater Region and Renfrew County.

Aside from the constant business of day to day agricultural services provided throughout all of Whitewater and Renfrew County, we are proud to financially support many groups, events, fairs, clubs and charities.
Our 2012 30th anniversary of Millar Feed and Seed was a huge success generating substantial funds for the Cobden Agricultural Society, Cobden Fire Department and the Cobden Civitan Club.
4 I bring the following skills to the position of Reeve: 32 years business management, innovation, leadership, problem solving, growth management, financial planning, people management, determination , and common sense.

The top priority of Renfrew County as I see it should be to support and partner with all municipalities to promote growth and better living. Co-operation and communication must be utilized to facilitate success and efficiency.
6
We need growth and a larger tax base to work with. We need Renfrew County to first understand this, and subsequently identify ways to foster this. We have to ask “how we can?” as opposed to “why we can not?”

The short-term answer is to operate deliberately and prioritize carefully. Scrutinize all outflow of cash making sure all money leaving is necessary and allocated appropriately. Long term would be to increase the inflow of cash by way of growth (not taxes) combined with a sound and common-sense driven spending policy.
