PEMBROKE — Through raffles, draws and collected membership fees, the Renfrew County Registered Trappers Association (RCRTA) recently donated $500 to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s Cutting Edge campaign in support of the orthopaedic program and reconstruction of the inpatient surgical unit.

Presenting the gift, RCRTA president, Wayne Duffy, commented on the foreseeable impact of their donation.

“Our members span across Renfrew County, from past Cobden to Stonecliffe, so we recognize that Pembroke Regional Hospital is our local health care hub – if you need a knee replacement, you are coming here,” he said.

RCRTA’s past donation to the PRH Foundation’s MRI Campaign in 2014 saw direct benefit for a club member who received an MRI at PRH that revealed a brain tumor.

“Our contribution to the campaign very well helped saved his life,” said Mr. Duffy.

Receiving the donation, PRHF Executive Director, Nancy Warren remarked, “Ensuring the best local health care is truly a team effort for our community, and we are sincerely grateful that local groups like the RCRTA repeatedly join in on our efforts.”
