RENFREW – The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 247 calls for service during the past week.

Domestic Disputes
Officers investigated 13 domestic disputes during the past week. One male was charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling. No other criminal offences occurred.

Report Suspicious People and Vehicles
Renfrew OPP officers investigated eight reports of suspicious people and three suspicious vehicles during the past week. If you see a person or vehicle that seems for some reason to be suspicious or acting unusual, please call the OPP dispatch centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122.

Thefts
A drive shaft was stolen off a 2007 Dodge Ram ¾ ton truck between August 12-15. The vehicle was parked at Arnprior Chrysler at the time.
While a vehicle was parked at the Marina on Ottawa Street in Arnprior, several items were stolen out of the box of the pick-up truck. Two tarps, a bottle jack, a sleeping bag, and other items were stolen between 11 a.m. and noon on Monday, Aug. 15.
A white IPhone 6 was stolen from a residence on Desmond Trudeau Dr. in Arnprior. The theft happened in the evening on Sunday, Aug. 14. Provincial Constable (PC) Colleen McGrath is investigating.
A truck was vandalized and items stolen from it while the vehicle was parked at the boat launch on Wabun Lake road in Greater Madawaska Township. Windows were smashed on the truck between August 13-14. A Husqvarna chain saw was stolen from a locked tool box in the back of the truck. PC Lindsay Moore is investigating.
A quantity of fireworks was stolen from Macs Convenience Store in Renfrew. The male thief stole the fireworks on Monday, Aug. 15. There is a suspect and PC Amanda Carruthers is investigating.
A boat was reported stolen from Black Donald Tent and Trailer Park on Sunday, Aug. 21. The boat was last seen in the water Saturday evening. It is described as a 14 ft. white inflatable boat with a black 25 hrsp Parsuns outboard motor. PC Jeff Cassidy is investigating.
A laptop computer and a ring were stolen from a vehicle parked on Maple Drive in Arnprior on Sunday, Aug. 21 between 4:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Impaired Driver
On Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 11:53 a.m., police received a report of a possible impaired driver on Calabogie Road in the Township of Greater Madawaska.
Officers located the suspect vehicle and the female driver failed a roadside alcohol screening test.
Following further tests at the detachment Suzette Cousineau, 54 of Gatineau, was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mgs, possessing more than one drivers licence and driving with licence from another jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario.
She was released from custody on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on Wednesday, September 21.
