Renfrew man charged following assault on Hwy. 17

OTTAWA — Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the OPP responded to a call of two males fighting in the median of Highway 417 near the Richmond Road interchange at approximately 8:17 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10.

The investigation found that two males became involved in an altercation following a minor motor vehicle collision.

As a result, James MacRae, 45 years old of Renfrew, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with Assault. He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on Wednesday, May 8.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene.
