The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 305 calls for service during the past week.

Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated six domestic disputes during the past week. One male was charged with uttering threats and one male was charged with 3 counts of breach of probation. No other criminal offences took place.

Break and Enter
Officers investigated two residential break and enters during the past week. On Monday, Oct. 30 a homeowner on Massey Crescent in Renfrew arrived home at approximately 5 p.m. and found the front door damaged and forced open. It did not appear that anything was stolen. Sgt Steve Linton is investigating.
On Tuesday, Oct. 31 officers responded to a break in on Renfrew Ave W at approximately 11:37 a.m. The investigation revealed a male had entered and stayed in the apartment without authority. Cory Laing, age 35 of Renfrew, was arrested and charged with break and enter, unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on Wednesday, Dec. 6. A second male located in the apartment was arrested was released without charges. Provincial Constable Jason Golds led the investigation.

Thefts
On Monday, Oct. 30 an Echo brand weed whacker, another unknown brand weed whacker, a socket set and a gas can were reported stolen. The tools were stolen from the back of a pick-up truck in July while the truck was parked at the Arnprior & District High School. PC Rick Shikatani is investigating.
On Wednesday, Nov. 1 officers received a report of a stolen wallet. The victim advised they knew the suspect and knew where the stolen wallet was. PC Amanda Carruthers is investigating.

Suspicious Vehicle Leads To Weapons Charges
On Saturday, Nov. 4, at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle stopped on Reid Road near Stone Road in the Township of Admaston Bromley. Upon arrival officers located two males in a vehicle with two long guns in the vehicle. The investigation revealed a third male owned the guns and neither male present had legal authority to possess a firearm. A 17-year-old youth from Killaloe Haggarty Richards Township was charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon. He was released on an appearance notice for Youth Court in Renfrew on Wednesday, Dec. 6. He was also charged with minor consume alcohol. A 20-year-old male from Admaston Bromley Township, a passenger in the vehicle, was also charged with consuming alcohol in other than a residence, licensed establishment or private place. He will not be named to protect the identity of the youth. PC Mark Cranford led the investigation.

Fraud
PC Tamara Dube investigated a fraud reported by a victim in Arnprior. The victim reported a male claiming to be from Microsoft contacted them to check their computer. They started the computer, filled in some forms and watched as money was removed from a bank account. The computer was shut off and the police contacted. The bank the victim deals with was contacted and is investigating. Police are also investigating.

Stunt Driving Charge
One male was charged with stunt driving after police stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 for speeding. The vehicle was stopped on Saturday, Nov. 4 at approximately 3:29 a.m. on Highway 17 near Calabogie Road travelling in excess of 50 km/hr above the posted 90 km/hr speed limit. Bradley McCumber, age 51 of Arnprior, was charged with stunt driving and issued a summons for court in Renfrew on Friday, Dec. 15. PC Kyle Mask investigated.
