The Council Of the Township of Whitewater Region heard a motion to approve a Site Plan agreement with Snyders Equipment services to permit the development of part of Westmeath Concession B, Industrial Park Road.

Ivan Burton said the development was for a garage and contractor’s yard, with ‘numerous garages and office spaces’, and that there would be three entrances, with two leading to a fenced hard and to two loading bays.

He said there would be a linear stormwater management pond.

“Mr. Snyder purchased the property in 2016. As part of that agreement, they did retain an easement for a waterline that runs from the main to the non-potable water system. That water line is no longer required, and the township is committed to cap that waterline and return the easement to Snyder.”

“These lands are intended for Commercial and Industrial Development, and are suitable for this development.”

He said that their needed to be modification to the width of entrances, to reduce them, and that Reuben was ‘committed’ to reducing their width.

Mayor Moore asked if they’d tendered the water line.

Lane Cleroux said that they would be hiring a contractor but would also be ‘contacting the owner of the waterline to disconnect it and have the agreement torn up”.

He said it would likely be done by “springtime.”

The Mayor asked if it was going to be capped on our side, and Cleroux said that it was being capped on Cemetary Road.

The motion was voted on and carried.
