Top finalists announced for RC100

Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation is excited to announce the Top Finalists of RC100 (Renfrew County 100), a competition for Innovative Pre-Commercial Start-up companies competing for $100,000.

The participants recently attended a two-day Pitch School at Algonquin College where they practiced their business pitch in front of a group of business and technology experts who coached them on ways to refine and improve their delivery.  On Tuesday, June 19^th they will be put to the test, pitching their companies to a Power Panel in front of a live audience at Festival Hall in Pembroke in the first round or RC 100.  The top 5 contestants from amongst the 11 entrepreneurs competing will be selected to move on to the next round of the RC 100 competition.

Students considering science and engineering careers and anyone interested in learning from these world-leading innovative entrepreneurs are encouraged to attend.  One of the participants is a winner of the University of Waterloo Velocity innovative technology business competition and competitors come from the County of Renfrew, Ottawa and the Greater Toronto Area.

On Friday, August 24 the $100,000 winner will be announced at the Petawawa Golf Course and the public is invited to attend that grand finale and BBQ celebration of all these RC 100 innovative entrepreneurs.

The doors at Festival Hall open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19^th and we invite you to join us to hear from some of today’s most innovative entrepreneurs and learn about their new business and product concepts.
