WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — This week the Renfrew District Health Unit launched their annual Beach Water Testing Program. Every Monday for the summer season, employees at the district health unit visit public beaches within Renfrew County to collect water samples and test for the presence of E.Coli bacteria.

If levels exceed the provincial regulations, the health unit will notify the public and post a sign stating that the beach in question is closed.

After this weeks sampling, we are happy to announce that Cobden Beach is OPEN! We will keep you updated on the status of the beaches within our watershed as they become available through social media, email and on our Beach Status page on our website.

Sincerely,

The Team at Muskrat Watershed Council
