On June 18th the WDRA hosted a golf tournament to raise funds for the hall and programming in our community at the Oaks of Cobden. We would like to thank the volunteers who helped to make the tournament a success. Thank you goes out to Peter Ethier, Kerry Watson, Nick Ethier, Carissa Moore, Karen Marsinkowski and Wendy Orcutt who helped to set up the day of the tournament, helped with registration, sold raffle tickets and poker hands. Thank you also to Wendy for taking all the pictures. I would also like to thank Cecilia Redini and Miku Akizawa who ran the putting contest. Kerry Watson was our auctioneer. A big thank you to the staff at the Oaks of Cobden especially Carrie Stoppa who did a great job looking after us as all and providing an excellent meal.

· Angie Bush also volunteered and made many of the prizes for the best team, most honest team and the team with the best name.

· The winning teams was The Hennessy Bay Hackers made up of Tom Burnett, Bruce Parisen, Jack Burnett and Kendall Acres.

· The most Honest team – the Weapons of Grass Destruction was Avery Nagora, Julie Antler, Jonah Antler and Karlina Kerr.

· The putting contest winner of $160 was Hannah Bradley.

· The poker hand was won by Bruce Ethier of $100.00.

· The oldest golfer was Bernie Ethier and he received a prize donated by SandJoe Antiques and Collectibles.

· The best team name went to Impossibly Awesome made up of Dave Lessard, Marie Gilchrist, Jason Adshade and Paula Adshade.

· Men’s longest drive was won by – Dad Bods, women’s longest drive – Kartina Kerr, men’s closest to the hole was Jay Orcutt and women’s closest to the hole was Karlina Kerr.

· The community was so generous and we would like to acknowledge everyone who donated a prize large or small as they all helped to make the day a success. · We had some fun holes on the course as we had to tee off using hockey gloves, putt in on another hole with a wooden putter, and shack a dice to see who’s tee shot would be used.

· We had 19 teams and look forward to a bigger tournament next year. We would like to thank all the players who took part, since without them we would not have had such a fun, successful day.
