Eganville Olympian Melissa Bishop waves to the crowd as she is chauffeured through the downtown core of Eganville on the beautiful coach pulled by the team of percherons provided by Tom Redmond of Cobden during her homecoming parade on Saturday.  Miss Bishop’s parents, Doug and Alison and brother Jonathan accompanied her on the ride that was viewed by an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 people along the route. Miss Bishop has many relatives and friends in Whitewater Region, so we thank The Eganville Leader for providing whitewaternews.ca with this photo. While unusual for one newspaper to promote another, whitewaternews.ca encourages our readers to pick up this week’s edition of The Eganville Leader, as it has a Melissa Bishop special section.
