WESTMEATH – Planner Jordan Durocher said that a plan to move the Westmeath Cenotaph to a new park location was ready to begin.
The new location, located at Gore Line and Rapids Road, would cost $85,734.23 with the current tender company and would be partially funded from a Canada Commemorative Partnership Program –Community War Funding grant of $25,000.
Treasurer Sean Crozier said that they were recommending using the remainder of the Park reserve to fund the project, as well as some from the Capital reserve.
He said that the construction was to end September 3rd.
Mayor Moore suggested any kind of celebration of the movement should be on the 10th, not the 11th, due to Remembrance Day fell on a Thursday this year.
