The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region appointed Terms of Reference and appointments to the Westmeath Recreation Task Force.
CAO Trembley said this “short-term’ task force was to “Really engage the community and talk about the past, the present, but most importantly the future.”
He said that it would include Westmeath and Lapasse, and would be chaired by Mayor Moore, containing Councillor Nicholson and Councillor Olmstead.
He said it was about “Exploring the community based approach.” over the next year, with emphasis on “reusing existing facilities”.
He said he would be heading it up with reports on the financial requirement.
Councillor Nicholson thanked the members for their commitment, including Anne Bromles, Onno Ganderse, Vince Gervaise, Brenda Grady, Terry Kenny, Michael La grota, Dana Racine, Cheryl Spotswood.
Councillor Olmstead said that while it would not be “a fun position” it would prove useful for the area’s future.
