WHITEWATER REGION — John Jordan, Executive Director and Brenda Powers-Ross, Director are pleased to announce that  Whitewater Bromley Community Health Centre a part of Lanark Renfrew Health & Community Services (LRHCS) has once again achieved full accreditation through the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA). The CCA provides a third-party review based on accepted organizational practices that promote ongoing quality improvement and responsive, effective community services.

In this, our sixth consecutive and successful accreditation, the review team found LRHCS to be “… a healthy, effective organization that is delivering needed programs and services to its clients and community”.

Staff and board were commended for strengths in Governance, Stewardship, Risk and Safety, Organizational Planning and Performance, Programs and Services, Community, Learning Environment, Human Resources and Volunteers. Within the Community-Based Primary Health Care Module, notable strengths were identified in the Community Based Approach, Quality Programs and Services and Service Safety.

Lanark Renfrew Health & Community Services (LRHCS) is an incorporated, non-profit umbrella organization that includes three “parts”: Lanark Community Programs (LCP), the North Lanark Community Health Centre (NLCHC), and the Whitewater Bromley Community Health Centre (WBCHC).

While each “part” has its own target populations, range of health and social services, funders, partners, geographic service areas and histories, all “parts” are governed by one community-based Board of Directors and are guided by a common vision, mission and beliefs, strategic priorities and organization-wide policies. Collectively, we provide community-based primary health care, health promotion programs and services, and a range of developmental and social services to people living in rural communities across Lanark, Renfrew ,Leeds and Grenville Counties.

The extensive and rigorous CCA accreditation process provides our funders, partners and community members with assurance that LRHCS is following best practice guidelines and is accountable to the communities we serve.
