WINNIFREDE  MIRIAM KENNEDY

April 17, 1920 – July 27, 2018

Winnifrede was born in Ottawa to Alfred and Glen Patterson nee Buchanan. Her loving husband Robert Kennedy predeceased her in 2007 and her sister Elsie Ann Ross 2008 (C. James Ross 1981). She was also predeceased by 1 niece and 2 nephews and 10 Kennedy in-laws. She is survived by 4 Kennedy in laws and many nieces and nephews. Having completed Senior Matriculation at Kennedy Collegiate Windsor, she graduated from McMaster University in Honors History. After a year at Ontario Teachers College, Toronto, she qualified for a Counselling Certificate, and taught History and English in High Schools in Port Arthur (now part of Thunder Bay) Windsor, Belleville, Ottawa and after her marriage in Sudbury. Winnie retired in 1969 and Bob in 1976 when they moved to Beachburg Ontario. Winnie worked on a variety of committees at St. Andrew’s United Church in Sudbury and Beachburg, and held offices in Zion Line Women’s Institute, Whitewater Region Township. Winnie wanted to especially thank for many kindnesses her niece Patricia Ross and her nephew Gordon Ross and his wife Sue Ross residents of  Ottawa. The Family thank the Staff at Supples Landing Retirement Residence, Pembroke for recent care; also the Staff of Fraser-Morris and Heubner Funeral Home Cobden  The Funeral Service will be held in St. Andrews United Church Beachburg at a later date conducted by the Rev. Kevin Moratz. Cremation has taken place with no visitation. Following the service everyone is invited to refreshments and visiting at the Church following the committal at Beachburg Union Cemetery. Also a special thank’s for the end of life care received at Hospice Renfrew. As expression of sympathy donations to St. Andrews United Church Memorial Fund 1774 Beachburg Rd.
