Dear Editor,

Our group met with Doug McNeil, his assistant Jennifer Keyes (MNRF), and two of her staff on Friday the 6th of September in Pembroke. As you know Doug McNeil has been appointed as a special Consultant to Minister Yakabuski to look into all aspects of the 2019 flood. We were allotted one hour for the meeting, and we actually ran overtime by an extra 20 minutes. We gave a full slide presentation and there was ample time afterwards to ask questions and make comments.

We feel the meeting went very well. Mr. McNeil allowed us to speak our piece and we felt he was empathetic and interested in our views. He has an enormous task to complete in a short amount of time, but he is highly qualified and knowledgeable on the topic of flooding given his extensive work in this area. We really appreciated that he took the time out of his busy schedule to meet with our group.

We look forward to his report which will be presented at some point in October.

All the best,
Phil Cottrell
