OPP investigate serious motor vehicle collision

RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — Members of the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles.

On January 30 just before 6:30 p.m., OPP officers along with Renfrew Fire and Renfrew County Paramedics, responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Lochwinnoch Road in Horton Township.

The initial investigation has revealed a westbound vehicle collided head on with an eastbound vehicle in the eastbound lane. Three persons were extricated from the vehicles and transported to hospital with serious injuries. 

The highway was closed for multiple hours and has since been reopened. The investigation is continuing.
