The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region approved the 2021 Pembroke & Area Airport requisition.
“Every year, like we pass our budget, the Airport passes their budget.” Crozier said. “Their municipal budget is over 93,000. We are responsible for 15.443% of that, which comes to a total of 14,447.41.”
Crozier said that it went up “very very slightly” from last year.
He said that this year was budgeted 75,000 for the requisition, as well as an annual contribution for Project Runway 5000, as well as for fuel tank replacement estimated between $350,000 and $400,000, with Whitewater’s total budgeted contribution being $55, 552.59.
“It would be my recommendation that if the fuel tank replacement is not carried out this year, it’s my recommendation that we don’t have to pay anything this year, and it would be my recommendation to move that leftover funds into reserves.”
“They’re going to come with a proposal on the fuel tank replacement.” Councillor Daryl McLaughlin. “I don’t know if anyone knows of Grassroots, they’re lobbyists on the Federal and Provincial level, and we’re desperately in need for some funding, our infrastructure is in desperate need of repair. I think it’d be a good investment to have these people lobbying for us.”
