“There aren’t any registered daycares in Whitewater.” asked one woman. “How will the council deal with resources to child care?”

Chris Olmstead said he went through “eight daycares thanks to covid.” and said childcare would help attract and retain population.

“If we want to tentice people to work here, we need to make provisions for childcare.” he said.

He told the audience to “start banging the drum” after being told the same by the provincial centers.

Neil Nicholson said that creating new daycare at affordable rates was feasible and has been done in other townships.

“There’s $10 daycare out there, but we don’t have access to it.” he said.
